An altitude of a triangle is a segment from a vertex to the line containing its opposite side, and is perpendicular to that line. The point where the lines containing a triangle's three altitudes intersect is called the orthocenter. To construct the orthocenter, it is sufficient to find the intersection of the lines containing two altitudes, since the line containing the third altitude will also pass through that point.
