Plane mirrors form a virtual image (behind the mirror). The image formed is of the same size as that of the object. The image formed by a plane mirror is upright.

When an object is placed at infinity, a concave mirror forms a real image at the focus. When an object is placed behind the center of curvature of a concave mirror, a real image with a smaller size compared to the object is formed between the center of curvature and focus.
